Hi all,I have a computer that randomly shuts down..

AsRock H67M
Intel core i5 3450S
400W PSU
Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo
8gb Patrior Viper RAM
No GPU

Had a problem of overheating got 60 C just from normal browsing, even just in BIOS.PC wouldn't even work after some time(weeks of shuting down here and then).I wasn't able to turn it on.Bought hyper 212 evo and temps.fell from 60 C to 30 C.
Computer working now. Thought it was my ram before the old one but then I changed it and that didn't matter.

PC started randomly shutting down again few days ago..It actully shut down when I was in the game,so I guess you could say it crashes when under load.

So I ran prime95 blend test for 24h and 15mins no problems.

Ran Memtest for 11 passes no errors..

I guess its just the mobo left what do you think? The way the PC crashes is with a CLICK then shut down.

First suggestion would be to get a new power supply and see if anything changes. You don't want to be using a cheap old unit like that. Did you build this pc yourself? Did you install the standoffs between the case and motherboard?

With prime, you only test the CPU. If your PSU can't hold the load when both (CPU and GPU) are stressed (like in-game). Then it shuts down so it doesn't blow up.
It could also be the GPU, but I doubt that, because otherwise only the screenoutput would crash and not the whole pc.

Edit: I Read your first post again, seems like it could also be another problem. Since normally an i5 + igpu shouldn't use much power. Or you need to have a really bad PSU.

Yea as far as I can see everyone says get a new PSU so I guess I'll do that.
Yes I did build the pc myself.I did put the standoffs on most crucial places but not on all. Someone before told me that it could be the motherboard grounding to the case. But I don't think so since it runs normally but only when the game is opened it crashes.I know it now sounds like it just the game but it happed before game is just an example.

Thanks for help all btw.

You must put standoffs only where they are designed to go. Only where there are screw holes on the motherboard, do you put the standoffs. If there is no hole, do not put a standoff. Your board requires 6 and only 6 standoffs. Look at image. Only put stand offs where you see red circles.

Yes no probelm. I have expirence,I know how to build a computer,my case has plastic standoffs built in so I put my motherboard on that and a few other standoffs that I had on some other holes. I just didn't have enough for all holes and neither did all the holes fit the case.

You need only 6 standoffs to support the board. if you put metal standoffs where there isn't a hole then you are grounding out the board. If the case doesn't have a built in standoff or a whole for a standoff where you need one for the board, then you have the wrong type of case.

I don't understand this. It ahs been working for 3-4 days no shutting down doing cinema 4d and games(stress) didn't shut down once. And I turn it on today for 5 minutes of browsing it shuts down... I think it's something else not power supply even thoe I'll be buying new motherboard and powesuppy and GPU next year..(gpu probably gtx 670) and hopefully Z77 motherboard so tell me which or how much W power supply should I buy and what do you think about the problem? Thanks.

My advice would be to rebuild the pc making sure you only have 6 standoffs between case and motherboard, also try a different power supply.

Isn't that too little? I was thinking 650W. But you know better..
No not really it's not a populary brand either just a case. It's big thoe(compared to my motherboard).

Yes, the 430W corsair will have a much more powerful 12V rail than the current PSU, so don't let the wattage fool you.
