Hey Everyone,
Well I'm kinda new here and I just wanted to start by saying hey to everyone.
Well getting down to business, my brother's computer died about 3 weeks ago. One of the clips that was holding the Heatsink on his processor broke all of a sudden and it left him with a dead CPU. So I've been in charge of doing a little upgrade for him.
He has about 230 US to spend on his parts and I came up with this configuration for him. Keep in mind that he's not a hard core gamer but does play a few recent games. He mostly uses the computer to do alot of lvl and game design work. He also wants to keep all of his working parts that he has. (DDR-RAM, PATA HDD, AGP Card) And he also prefers Intel chips over AMD.
OCZ Thermal Compound - 4.99

Intel Pentium D 945 3.4 DC 65 nm - Retail - 170.00

FoxConn 865G7MF Mobo - 44.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp?Item=N82E16813186060
Total w/ shipping - 227.41
His setup that he had was this:
3.0A Ghz Pentium 4 (Prescott) DIED
FoxConn Mobo
1GB RAM PC-3200
80 GB Western Digital HDD
200 GB WD HDD
Geforce 5700LE 256 MB Card
Creative Soundblaster 24-bit Sound card
21 Monitor
Now I'm going to be trading my Video card with him because I'm not gaming as much as I use to. I have an EVGA 7800GSOC card that I'm trading him.
So what do ya'll think??? Remember that he can't go over 230 US in price. Thanks ahead of time for everyone's input.
Peace,
Rob
