Computer Restarts Every 20 Minutes

I have a new spare heatsink so ill replace the one im using atm with this new one tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Replacing the Heatsink didnt work but it wasnt a very good one so im not suprised. I downloaded a program to check the temp of the cores and i took a screenshot:

Does the temp's mean i need to invest in a good cpu fan?

Turns out the temperature is not a problem. It is not turning off again and again because of high temperature.
It might be a virus since it restarts at exactly 20seconds and since it stopped when you switched all the startup from msconfig off.

I wrote a code once which made the computer log-off every 10 seconds and also on use of the keyboard and also it copies the process to the startup and the process was named svchostRDBF.exe so it was really difficult to turn off from the task manager.

So i think the code you encountered is some thing like the one I wrote only but also it wont be detected by the anti virus program because my code also bypassed antivirus softwares.

It cant be a virus since this was a clean install. Since i changed the heatsink the comp doesnt even load properly now and it has to be started in safe mode every time.

I wouldn't use speedfan to check temps, it isn't the most accurate. It generally gets roughly in the right range, but is by no means very accurate.

Download HWmonitor and try that instead:

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

also, you will be able to tell if it is overheating by stress testing it and if it goes off after a minute or so of it, it is most probably a heat issue. You can stress test your system by downloading and running prime95 from here:

http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/

(it is under Step 3)
