computer restarts randomly

system specs are p4630, msi6600gt, maxtor160gb/cache on/,asus p5sd2-x, supertalent 1gb ddr2, 550WPSU. Currently running xp pro sp2, system were meant to be on 7/24, but it seems to restart itself each day. Is this somekind of software issue? thanx.

my psu runs around 50c is this too hot?

go into bios and check the tmps when it will shut down. see if that is near your running tmps. do you have a boot log? so you know when you boot and what is going on.

boot log? do i create that in bios or in windows? following are my Vs and temps from asus probeII. 5.17-5.20V, Cpu 45c, 3.31v, MB 45c, pwr 50c, vcore 1.37-1.41v, and 12.04v.

Cpu 45C. Your Cpu is not too hot, but what is the wattage and amps (12V) on your psu

25A, that should be enough to run the system.

You could try running memtest, could possibly be faulty RAM (But it would be restarting more if it was faulty)
