Computer shuts down..HELP

When i use Few software or programme together my computer shuts down o its own.... and if use just one 1 programme or software its working fine...

Is it a problem with the power supply...or heating??
 
When you say Shuts Down, do you mean it just suddenly switches off? Or does it go through the powering down sequence, as in it says "Windows is Shutting Down..." etc...
 
What are your computer specs? It sounds like your pc may not have enough to powerup what you are doing. Other than that, if you know you have more than enough, have you checked to see if this happens with certain programs or is it a reoccurance on particular programs that you run.

1. It does not go through the process.. It suddenly Swithes off..!!

2. It does not happen with certian programme.. For Example if i play a song it does not hav any problem but if i use msn msg...yahoo msg ...winamp and surf at the same time suddenly it switches off..!!

Its a P3, 1.7ghz, 256mb ram.. Windows xp...!!
