Computer slow could it be virus?

I am new to this forum and don't know to much about computer or technology
A while ago I just brought a new e machines CPU and already I see pop ups that I have number of spyware ! Cyberlog- X ? What is the best approach to this? Should I download a virus scan .......... then delete all infected programs?
Also I use comodo protection is this system good?

First off, read up on the differences between spyware and viruses. From what you say you seem to have spyware, NOT viruses(though both can go hand in hand...) Probably the best free software around is Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy. Also, for good measure, if you don't have a virus scanner, AVG Free Edition is very good.
