Computer slowing down

Got my computer about 8 months ago. It is:

P4 3.2 800 BUS
1G RAM
160G HD
NVIDIA 6800GT 256 PCI EXPRESS

lately it has been running slower. I have run every spyware and virus software available to no luck. It is not rediculously slow, just whenever i play games like Battlefield 2 and Halflife 2. What could be the problem?

Have you done a disk clean up and defraged in awhile

And Windows does get worse as time goes by. The registry gets f***ed up when installing, uninstalling etc.

I got my pc last christmas and i think i hav installed windows more times that i have been on msn! only a joke but there has been a lot of times! My suggestion is to back up everything and completly format your drive and start over! Thats what fixed my dell 8100 with its 9999999999999999999 problems!

I think sknich should at least run CCleaner before a total format and reinstallation. Download it for free from download.com.
