I really think you need a new power supply, get a decent modern one with 430 watts or so. That should do fine to run your system.

I just don't think you have the right power supply version to run your board.

When you say you took that power supply out of your older system, what is that system? Specs? And how old is it?

I dont know the specs of the old system but the power supply is over 5 years old, I took the new one that came with the case that had the 24 pin connection I needed and tried it and it still didnt work, did the exact same thing. Its a 420 watt so I would think it could power it up at least.

Here are the voltage specs for that antec PSU.

Output +3.3V@22A,+5V@15A,+12V1@16A,+12V2@16A,+12V3@16A, [email protected],[email protected]

I do not know what the requirements are for your video card, but if it requires over 16 amps then that might be your problem, since your PSU only supply's 16 amps.

yeah you will need a 24 pin for a 24 pin connector.. if your psu only has 20 pin, then it wont work

20 pins work just fine on a 24 pin motherboard and for about 5 bucks you can get an adapter, so the psu is not the problem.

I would check your monitor......or are you getting boot screen and the comp works, it just wont shut down. I am a little confused about that.
