Computer Trouble, help?

I am now building my second computer for my brother. I am having trouble getting it to start up. I had it starting up a little bit ago, but I needed to put a new optical drive in. Now when I hit the power switch on the power supply it flashes on for 1 second and then shuts off. I am assuming it has something to do with the power switch, but the instructions for the case are labeled different than the Mobo and I can't really understand what I have wrong. If needed, I will list all of them. It's a NZXT Lexa Blackline and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128034 for my Mobo.
 
Did you check to make sure you did not loosen a connector when you installed that optical drive? If not check all your connections. Even the ones on the mother board.
 
I've been going through them for a while now. I don't know if this is important, but I don't have a speaker for the speaker thing on the mobo. Also, I have an amber/white 2pin wire from my case that says "Power SW" but the case instructions don't mention it in them. They say I'm supposed to put "+P LED/-P LED" for the power switch, but it would sound like that is the MSG wire instead. I wish they has a standard for labeling these things, sometimes they're very unclear.

that sounds like that could be a problem. Im pretty sure that the Power SW wire needs to be plugged in, review your manual more carefully, im not sure how much i can help
 
What are the rest of the specs? also be sure the motherboard is not touching the case and the standoff's are placed correctly (the most common problem) :P

I have it connected, I'm just not completely sure what it's supposed to go to because the manual never says anything about it.

Don't be concerned with the lack of a speaker connector on the MoBo. In order to figure which two pins to plug the Power SW connector to, you'll need a standard paper clip. Unbend it and make a little loop on one end--don't get fancy, just twist it around. You'll want the loop big enough to touch two connectors at once, but small enough to only touch two at once. On the little area where the Front Panel pegs are, you'll want to test the pins, two at a time, until the computer powers on. Start on the top row with the two pins closest to the front of the case--those are the most common for Power Switches. If that doesn't work, move to the two pins directly below it and continue until it starts.

One row will have one extra pin on one end. Leave it alone as it's not going to be one of the ones that start it.

Or just look for the "PWR" which almost 99% of the desktops boards have...

:cool: I imagine you had a very smug look on your face when posting that. But just in case they're in that 1% category...
