computer trouble

i recently moved, when i plugged my computer into my surge protecting powerbar it will not power up at all, yet my secondary computer(this one) will. Nothing has been altered, outlet works fine, i get no fans turning on, normally when it can normally boot up it will display a small green light on the motherboard and i no longer get that, there is no activity within the computer at all, and yes the power chord works, any suggestions before i take it to a computer store?

I am new to this forum, if this topic is supposed to be in a different category please advise me and dont ban me.

The first thing i would try would be to remove the cmos battery and the power cord for 10 minutes then plug in the cord without the battery in and power it up if it works, your cmos battery is dead and you replace it for about 3 dollars. Also check to make sure your power supply voltage setting is set correctly and if you have access to a power supply tester try that too.

Sorry if this sounds too simple and that I am dumbing-down the problem, but is the main switch on the power supply turn on?

I ask because we had about three of those come in to my work this week.
