Computer Troubles

Hey,

I own a Medion desktop that I purchased new, and that I've had for around 2 years now. I would not consider my self very good around computers, but can make my way around a computer like a normal person can.

The problem is that I have this empty window that opens, and that closes right after about at most like 2 seconds. It opens at the taskbar, then closes like I said. I've had this for about 6 months now. I have reformatted my computer about 3 times already, from this issue, and from other issues as well. But the last time was only to get rid of this issue.

After reformatting my computer, the problem still exists.

Could it be that my files that I carry over from my previous computer (ie. my documents, or my big cd collection) has viruses?

Or my computer is just really messed up?

Please help me !!!!

Google/Yahoo Panda Scan, and scan with it, it's a online scanner, type in the info., click My Computer, when the scans done, it will make a log, save the log to your Desktop, post the log in here, you should've put this in Computer Security if you think you have a virus.

It's sounds more like an invalid startup by a partial install of something extra that comes with one or programs you reinstalled was only partitially not fully installed where you now have what is called an "orphan" value in the system registry itself. The one thing you could try while this could also go into the operating systems sections due to the nature of the problem is reducing all startups to the bare minimum using the msconfiguration utility.

At the Run prompt right off of the Start menu simply type in "msconfig" there and press the enter/return key to see a new menu appear. On the last tab to the right is the list of programs that load along with Windows. The next to last also includes some startups where putting a check mark on the "hide MS services" box will prevent you from disabling any essentials needed to run Windows. Once the number of items is reduced using the selective startup method and then restarting the system upon exiting the utility you can then use a good cleaner on the system registry. Sometimes those are registration popups for programs installed if not ads for purchasing other programs along with what you are running. Once the registry cleaner is run you can return to the msconfig utility to re-enable items disabled restarting again to make them active.
