Computer Upgrade Preperation Questions

So I will be getting the following to replace some major components for my built computer...
Asus P8P67 PRO P67 B3
Intel-i5 2500k
ati xfx 6950 in CROSSFIREX

I have never replaced a MB/cpu so I am curious as to what is needed to be done? I previously installed my current computer components, but for replacements, is it as simple as switching and powering on? or do I need to reinstall windows with the new board/cpu installed.

For the GPU I believed I just need to manually uninstall my 5850 drivers and use driver sweeper to clean it up.

Another major question is about my PSU and the computer itself. My current is a 750w corsair. With these upgrades, comes the need for more power. Would a 750w support all these components?

I previously had problems with trying to crossfirex two 5770s with my current motherboard. It would boot up one fine, but when I installed two, the farthest it would get would be the login screen, password punched in, into a blue screen restart.

I came the the conclusion that it was my motherboard itself. Either way I am excited for these upgrades coming tuesday!

According to my knowledge a 750 Watt PSU is the min thats required for Crossfire/SLI, since you buying the k series cpu and dual gpu I would suggest a PSu with more power as also you had a bit problem with crossfiring old gpu.
 
that sounds good to me, besides I can sell my old psu if needed.

With a new motherboard and CPU, you will need to reformat your ahrd drive. You are buying new main components but what do you plan to re use? I'd just build an entire new machine (save for the PSU, depending on the model it might be worth using) depending on how much money you have to spend.
 
I will not buy a new machine, I built a year ago and added on slowly. I use both a 60gb ssd and a 1tb hdd. Most of my things are on the ssd so reformatting the SSd should be simple.

Though this is nearly a "new" system. I went ahead and purchased that PSU, I originally thought that 750w is more than enough for future buys, but I guess not hehe.
My 8g of ddr3 ram, xonar sound card, hdd, and ssd do not need upgrades though, rather new and very good!

What I have purchased so far basically hits the wall on my budget, but that is fine as long as I dont find out that I need another piece to get the new pieces working
