Computer upgrade

Hey guys, i m looking to upgrade my desktop pc for a much better gaming computer. I m not much of an expert so i really need an advice.
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 black edition
RAM: 4 GB DDR2
GRAPHICS: ATI Radeon HD 3800 series
MOTHERBOARD: model: K9A2 Platinum(MS-7376), manudacturer: micro-star international

So this is what i have now. If u need any more info just let me know.
What do u think i could upgrade first so i can get results..?

What is your budget?

Which model of CPU have you got? If it is not phenom II, upgrade to phenom II x4 or x6

You would need to upgrade your video card as well. But it would depends on your budget.
