Computer Upgrades

Hi, im new to forum and already i'm asking for your advice :P

I built a computer not long ago, i never intended to spend a huge sum of money in the process so as i started to run low on funds i bought "temporary" hardware such as, ram and GPU. It's come to a point where i have enough money to upgrade both.

My current system is:

AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0Ghz CPU - Socket AM3
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H Micro-ATX Motherboard - Socket AM3
4GB DDR3 1333MHZ RAM Memory
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB DDR3 PCI-Express

I already have located the ram i would like to upgrade to:

I have between £100 - £200 to spend on Graphics Card but im unsure which one to buy. I currently play:
  • World Of Warcraft
  • StarCraft 2
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • As well as many others

Any Suggestions would be brilliant. Thanks :)
 
If you already have 1333, going to 1600 is not going to make that much difference. Upgrade your video card. What power supply do you have?
 
What is your opinion on the ATI Radeon HD 6870? Can you suggest a better option in the same price range? (£100 - £200)
 
Yeah a 6870 is a good card. But your power supply is not. You would be pushing it with any higher end card on that supply.
 
I have found the box for my PSU here is everything it says on the side:

Supports Intel Core2 Duo & AMD Athlon 64/64FX (V.2.01)
Supports Dual Core Systems (Pentium D EE and Athlon 64 x 2) & Dual CPU Systems (V2.2)

The rest is just techno mumble jumple about the company.

Are those PSU's definetly worth the money to upgrade to from my current one?

Put it this way. Even though your power supply says 800W. It really has less then 470 watts on the 12V rail. And thats probably the max. Being low quality and a heavy load (snap crackle poop) lol
