Hey could someone help me
im gonna buy my computer new hard drive, ram , virtual memory but just to be specific wat makes the computer faster. I think is the ram right now i have 56.6gb and ram is like 256mb could some help me upgrading my computer with so i could buy the right stuff.

my computer is a compaq 5500

Do you want to upgrade the current computer or build a new one?

It sounds like your computer is a bit old. It might be less expensive just to build a new one. The actual speed of your computer is measured mostly by the processor speed. Something like a Pentium 4 2.4ghz or something. Its measured in Ghz. You only have 256mb of memory, you should get at least 1 gig (1024mb) the harddrive space is up to you.


If you are looking to buy a new computer, give us your budget and we can try to build you a computer.
 
hey do you have aim or msn cause i seriously need to upgrade or buy a new computer cause my is very slow and i need alot of help
 
I want a super fast computer to be able to download programs and put programs in it with out crashing alot and not to format my computer every month ..

So if i buy a hard drive it don't matter what type it is and 56.6 gb is not alot what about 120gb or 200 gb plus the one i already have will that do.

why is my computer so slow could you tell me the main reason....

Get 250Gb HDD, and get more RAM and a better processor. Your new computer is not as likely to crash as the old one, or so it seems.:D


Tell us how much you are willing to spend and we will be glad to get you some better gear
 
That is a very precise amount, and small too, your best bet might be to use current parts and purchase additional new parts to build a full computer.

Example: Use current CPU case to save $ etc.

I see you have a HDD. Do you have parts to maybe work with like a PSU, case etc?
