Computer will not boot.

My wife plugged an old ipod into our computer and it told us the ipod was corrupt and locked up, when we restarted the computer it wont finish the boot process. I tried reseting the CMOS and booting of the xp cd rom but to no avail. Can anyone help us get our pc running again?

Pop in your windows install disc. Boot to it and enter the recovery console. Then type chkdsk /p and when it's finished, reboot and see of that does the trick.

When i use the disk it freezes after loading and before entering windows.

I cant say I have ever had my iPod ever screw up my computer. I would recovery from the install disc.

the only thing i can think of is to reformat but i really dont want to do that.
