computer will not boot

i have a computer that won't boot. i hadn't used it for a few months. then when i went to use it, it turns on, but does not boot. the power light is on, the hd light is on, but it will not go past that point. it looks like it is stuck loading. the monitor doesn't turn on either.

specs: sony vaio, radeon x800, 1GB RAM, Pentium 4 (3ghz), 200GB HD.

someone help me please before i tear my hair out.

Can you get into the BIOS/Setup of the system?

Maybe your mobo is bad, or not seeing the devices attached to it. Or, your monitor is bad. Hard to really tell unless you tried to go into your BIOS/setup on the computer. If you are able to do that... and can see it on your monitor... then some other device is failing. If you aren't able to see anything on the monitor... try a different monitor to confirm if the monitor has gone bad.

Simple trouble shooting methods can help determine where to start. This is what I would do first. Try a different monitor and try to go into the BIOS/Setup and see if you can access it.

sorrry just thought it was funny

i had a problem like this last year if you look back at all the threads ive started you can see and maybe fix your problem but i couldnt fix my problem, eventually after a yr it just went back into normal mode
