Computer will not turn off properly

Sorry, didn't know where to post this

Anyway, I have just reformatted my PC. What is happening now is it will not turn of properly. When I either turn off or shut down, I get a box coming up which says C:DEBUGLOGLOG. When I click okay, the PC doesn't shut down. I literally have to keep doing it around seven or eight times. It will then start to shut down but then gets stuck. Any ideas what is going on?

Possible background program

It could possibly be one of the background programs causing this problem. You can try to go msconfig by going to start---run-- type in there: msconfig..then choose diagnostic startup and reboot. Try shutting down then and see if error persists. If it doesn't then some program in the background is causing issues.

I did what you suggested and it booted up okay. But it still played up. I then turn turned firewall on Norton and it rebooted okay. Could this be the problem?

I think the problem might have something to do with Norton Internet security. When I uninstalled it, the computer shutdown perfectly okay. When I reinstalled it, and started doing it again.

Norton sucks, for one, and two, you should have Zone Alarm or something similar for your firewall. Get rid of Norton once and for all and get some good freeware.

Nortan internet security works pretty well but ive had a lot of problems with system works. Eats up to much resources as well as conflicts with many programs
