Hello, I was wondering if any of you would know a solution to my problem.
I recently decided to build myself a computer as a few friends had done so also and I wanted a good gaming PC. I made sure all of the parts was compatible and then ordered it off of eBuyer.

The parts are as follows:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium w/SP1 - Licence and media - 1 PC - OEM - DVD - 64-bit - English

Casecom 140mm Red Blade Case Fan 3 and 4pin Connector

TP-Link Wireless-N300 PCI Adapter

Xilence Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan - 3&4pin connection

AMD Athlon II X4 640 Socket AM3 3GHz 2MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor

Asus M4A87TD/USB3 870 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz Ripjaws Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V

Sapphire HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

Arctic Power 700W PSU - 4x SATA 1x PCI-Express

LiteOn iHAS124-19 24x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Optical Drive - OEM Black with Nero Essentials

Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM Caviar Blue

Casecom 6788 Black Mid Tower Case with Full Black Interior/Exterior 120mm Blue LED Front Fan - No PSU

Xilence Red Wing 80mm Quiet Fan - 3&4pin connection

The computer is all plugged in correctly yet it will not show a bios screen is it me being stupid or is there a common error here?

Will be grateful for any help,

thanks.

Did you use the brass standoffs between the case and the motherboard? Do you have the 4 pin cpu power connector plugged into the motherboard? I checked the specs of the power supply and they really aren't the greatest. It has 2 12 volt rails at 22 amps a piece. Do you at least get the motherboard light to come on? Did you plugin the 6 pin power connector to the video card?

Yes its all plugged in correctly I had someone help.

Yes I used the standoffs and trying booting from outside the case, yeah the 4 pin CPU connector is in and yes the motherboard light comes on and the graphics card is plugged in.

Im not going to replace anything yet It might be that something is not plugged in correctly until I am aware of what the problem is I will not be touching any money

This person that you had help you, does he/she know about how to build a pc? If the motherboard light is on, then its getting power. You said you have the cpu, video card power cables plugged in, you also said you used standoffs and you also built it outside of the case and it still doesn't boot up.

Your next step is to start diagnosing parts.

1. psu
2. video card
3. cpu
4. memory

Remove everything from the system that not required to boot up. Use only 1 stick of memory video card, cpu, monitor. Disconnect the HDD, cdrom, all usb devices, any addon pci cards. You also should try resetting the cmos of the motherboard by removing power from the psu, remove the cmos battery, press the power button on the case a few times to discharge any remaining power and then wait 5 minutes. Then reconnect power and reinsert battery and see what happens. You may just have a bad motherboard, but you won't know until you start diagnosing parts. Problems like this, usually isn't that simple and easy to diagnos and sometimes if you don't have friends or relatives to borrow parts from then you need to spend money to determine whats wrong.

Or you can just take your system to a computer repair shop, pay a minimal diagnosing fee and they will tell you whats wrong with the system. It's your choice.

Also, is the case connections connected to the correct pins on the motherboard?

Yes everything is connected correctly the battery is the only thing I have not tried I will try that and hopefully some results!

Check the obvious.

The jumper near the CMOS battery. should say like CLRCMOS or RTC_CLR

make sure its in position 1,2 not 2,3 theres only 3 pins on the connector..

if this jumper is in 2,3 your computer is clearing bios and will not boot.

2nd Obvious.. Front pannel connectors. Are they plugged in? are the plugged in the right spots?

if both of those check out, then start checking hardware. Good luck

Jc61990 if i could hug you right now I would thank you the jumper was not in the wrong place but i reset the bios and it working thank you!!!!!!

Awesome! and no problem, good to hear it works!

my last mobo was an asus, and usually when i had booting problems it was after a bios update, clearing cmos by jumper, or pulling power out of the psu and holding the power button on the case for about 10-30 sec some times gets you going too.

I know your were asked about the standoff. But are you sure you have them in the right places. Just one were its not suppost to be will short out on the bottom of the board. When you put it back in te case, did you plug back in the CPU power connector?

He had took the hardware out of the case testing it. Then when he put it back in the case it wont fire up.

oh,

is your psu grounded to a standoff?

is your cpu cooler bracket sticking out and touching the case?

id still check out the front panel connectors,
