Hello all.

got my computer back but when everything is plugged and i turn it on the monitor has no signal.

- All power is plugged in
- CPU, GPU fans spin
- Tried different monitors.

I took the gpu out and plugged back in but still doesnt show.

Any quick fixes.

Ok. Back from the shop (read my other post)

Ill reset the cmos and try again in the morning, do I just load fail safe settings or something on bios?

Cheers.

Its a XFX 8600GT. Dont have one to replace out, mobo doesn have on onboard. And it doesnt require power.

:(

The monitor has no signal or is absolutely off? Does the fan work? Try the following:

1. TRY unplug your RAM and plug in again, still not work? Do it couple of times. Just to see whether BIOS program has been wiped off or there is a physical problem of RAM.
2. Assume the monitor shows "no signal", see if it works in DOS mode and normal windows mode. If it works in DOS but not in windows mode, it might be a problem of GPU. Then as what you did before, unplug GPU and plug it back several times. Won't work? Try another GPU.
3. In most cases, the motherboard won't be a problem. Double check connectivity of each component. Make sure power supply is ok.

I have 4gbs of ram, I removed 2 gbs cause I know that sometimes causes problems, But ill try remove all four tomorrow morning (its 1am here lol)

Yeah it shows no signal, but does flip on from standby when you turn the computer on. I cant see anythin on the screen so I have no idea what the computer is doing whether its going to window or anything. Ive unplugged GPU once, Ill do it a few times more tomorrow.

Yeah Ive tried all connections etc, as well as taking out cmos battery.

Cheers. Hopefully your ideas work. Thanks

Make sure you put on standoffs
Remove any extra standoffs
Make sure PSU is sufficient
Attach speaker and hear for beeps

Try one stick of memory at a time.

Whats a standoff??

Lol im getting sick of all this, its a brand new computer yet its died twice now. Two totally different things. :(

The thing you put below the motherboard. Small brown things that you screw into the case then place the motherboard on top and screw screws into it?

Oh ok, yeah i was wondering if it was those things lol after a wiki'ed standoffs lol.

Um how would that make a difference? I think theres only four.

An Update.

My computer Tech said that he's had problems with other brand mobo's not posting with ram in slot 1, 2 and 4. So when he got my machine, first thing he did was pull all the ram out and put one stick into slot 3. This made the thing POST straight away so he tried adding on stick at a time and it all worked. He says just one of those random things that seem to work. So yeah if anyone has POSTing problems try that, remove all ram and just have one stick in slot 3.

Cheers :)
