my brother asked me to see what kind and how much ram his computer (HP pavilion dv5000) had, and i took off the back cover, saw what kind it had, and put it back together. now it wont load, and if it does, it freezes when you try to open anything, and is extremely slow. what happened and what can i do to fix it?

Did you remove the RAM from their slots? If the RAM isn't seated properly, it shouldn't boot at all.
