Hi there,
My motherboard is Epox 8RDA3I:
http://www.epox.nl/products/view.php?product_id=412
I have two KINGSTONE memory chips installed on the board. One is 256MB 400MHZ CL2.5 other 256MB 400MHZ CL3. Right now they are installed only into bank 1 (black and purple - please take a look at the pictue in the link) what gives me 64bit transfer.
Last night I found the manual to my motherboard and I found out, that I could acheive better performance if I installed one chip into BANK0 and other in BANK1(purple and purple) and have 124bit dual chanel.
I tried that but my computer wouldn't start. I thought because of different CL. But I had some doubts about BANK0. I decided to check if my computer would start if I put only one 256 chip. And it didn't. According to the manual it doesn't matter into which slot you put the chip. But my computer won't start, no matter where I put the chip. But when I tried to start it with two chips in BANK1 it works well.
Does anyone have an idea why it works with two chips and it won't with only one (althought it shouldn't be a problem at all)?
thanx for help in advance.
best,
Elliott
