Computer Wont Turn On

when i push the power button the lights go on for a split second then shut off and the fans do NOT go on. This is a brand new custom comp. Please give me some ways to fix this.

iono , mayb the RAM , try one stick if theres over 2, mayb wirings wrong ?

I just got done fixing a computer with the same problem. I had to swap out the motherboard. Stripe the system down to the CPU, Ram, and Video Card and see if it boots. Next If you have a spare Power Supply try hooking that up to your striped down system and see if that boots it. If not it may be the motherboard.

Has this system ever booted up before?
Did you place the motherboard on standoffs?
Is the CPU fan plugged in?

btw. welcome to computer forum

try reseting the cmos. take the butten battery (sliver) out and unplug the power cord. wait 30 sec and put back in and plug back in. or there may be a reset swith. look by the battery for a jumper that has something to do with the cmos most likely reset cmos. swap the jumper to the other pin and press the power button. un swap an try again
