Computing on HDTV, resolution help please

Hey CF,

i hooked up my computer to my 32" HDTV and used the NVidia control panel to set up my computers resolution.

I ended up setting it to 720p, my televisions native resolution (from what i read on the description of my tv)

I noticed a lot of people saying their resolution on their HDTV's are at 1366 x 768.

When i go to my display settings i see my resolution is at 1280 x 720, which is lower res than the 1366 x 768 res.

Is there a difference in display quality between the two? my first instinct wants to say that 1366 x 768 is better than 1280 x 720 (720p) since its higher res. but i am not sure. Can someone help me clarify.

If you can use the native resolution, that would give you slightly sharper results. I'd say use 1366x768 if possible.

in my experience the 1366x768 has been better. if i remember my tv hook up days correctly, the 1280x720 cut off a little bit of my tv (bigger black strips on the top, bottom and side).
