ok so recently i really pissed off a group of people, and one of them happens to be kind of proficient at computers.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but should i be concerned at all that he might attempt to attack me with a virus or something? im trying to get my new computer build up and running and it would certainly suck if they screwed it up.
 
Well, it all depends on how proficient he/she is. They could easily send malware to you, but it would probably muck up their own machine. You should be worried if he/she knows how to actually write virus's

i.e. They are good at programming

well i doubt he knows how to program, so i think i should be safe. now i just gotta get around a physical threat lol.
 
Nah, don't worry about it. If they wanted to mess with your computer, it would be far easier to break in and drop kick it than it would be to remotely install a virus on your computer.
Being "kinda proficient" isn't near good enough to do what you're suggesting.

well im not exactly sure how much he knows but yea i guess i shouldnt worry about it.
 
Kinda proficient = you're probably okay.

It takes someone pretty savvy to write one of the really nasty bugs that will ruin your week.

If you're in the cross-hairs, just make sure you don't open any attachments or download any files you're not familiar with.
 
If your on a dynamic ip then reboot your router, that will foil 99% of there plans to do anything to you (assuming they even had your ip in the first place)
