Configuring a quad

I just recently got a intel q9300 and am wondering if
I need to do anything in winxp32 to configure it so
windows utilizes all the cores?

I am not over clocking.

hmmm I think it recognizes all four cores automatically. Games on the other hand, only recognize two unless it's compatible with quad cores.

In which there is only one so far... HL2, and in which it has horrible quad support anyways.

HL2 only utilized up to two cores IIRC, HL2:EP2 on the other hand is suppose to utilize up to 4.

Doesn't Crysis also support 4 cores?

More like graphic hungry game. I don't get how you can create a game that no card can max out
