Here is a few information about it.
So what is Conflict-2142 Tournament all about?
Conflict is an organized online tournament using a Battlefield 2142 Mod 3.02 that involves two sides, the CRE (EU) and the BOS (PAC) fighting over control of various parts of the world. Conflict-2142 has its own battle server, TeamSpeak and each side has their own forums on this site.
Each tournament consists of a campaign. When you register to play you will be placed into a side and you will remain as part of that army for the rest of campaign. Campaigns are around 13 weeks. You will be given access to your side's forums and once you are signed in you will learn to be a part of a team by training and playing the battle day.
Are we a clan?
No. We are not a clan. Conflict-2142 works purely on donations of monies and players donating their time, we have our own servers, administrators, forums, and armies - everything we need to run independently. All individuals and members of clans are welcomed to join. And if you are in a clan then you can all join the same side so you can be with your friends.
Reporting in to your division
Once you have joined an army you MUST sign in to the army HQ.
Once you can see the army forums, you must locate the new members sign-in thread, this can be found in the New Recruits forum. Follow the instructions in that forum, you will have to reply to a sign in thread and provide some basic information about yourself.
Your post will then be edited by an HCO to let you know what company you've been assigned to. Please note that no new post will be made. It is your responsibility to keep checking back to your sign-in post to see if you have your orders.
How do I know what to do during battle?
Well, every good army uses strategy they try to stick to (doesn't always stay the same though). Strategies will be created by your HCOs, CO's and battle orders will be passed down through the ranks to the troops. These orders in the battle usually include where to spawn, what armor/vehicle you have access to, and of course, what your objectives are - such as taking over a specific point or defending a flag, which will be given to by your squad leader. Each battle is part of a larger campaign to control territories on a map. How many battles you win, impacts on future battles.
How often do the armies fight each other and for how long?
Official Battle day is every Saturday (unless posted otherwise, e.g. due to Holiday, etc.). The battles start at 1pm EST or 6pm GMT and are for now 6 hours long. We follow Eastern Daylight Savings Time when it is in effect (EST changes to -4).
5 to 6 Hours! Do I have to play the entire time?
No. You can play as much as you can or as little as you want. Some players can hammer out 6 hours, and others can only put in 2 hours. Since we are a global tournament with members from all over the world, there are almost always a player ready to take your place when you need to sign off.
How are the 2 sides organized?
Each side has their own structure and is decided by their High Commanding Officers (HCOs). Each is broken down into several companies that has its own COs (Commissioned Officers), NCOs (Non Commissioned officers), and enlisted troops.
Do I have to follow the orders of higher ranking players?
Yes. To achieve the level organization we strive for here, it is important that orders be followed and carried out.
How can I advance my rank?
One word, PARTICIPATE. Show up for practices, show up for battles, take part in discussions on the forums, hang out on the TS server, get to know your officers. That will get you started. Show what you can do on the battlefield and your qualities as a leader.
What is the official language of the tournament?
English, spoken on TS and written in forums but we have players from all over the world so language is hardly any barrier.
