AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2000MHz HT 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail

Hi guys,

Im looking at the specs on this chip. it says the operating frequency is 2.2 ghz. I dont know much about cache and the 2000mhz ht spec that is says it has. I guess I really need to know if this is worth it to me. I want a really fast computer that can mult-task while browsing the internet and do other things such as burning cds and so forth. This is why I decided to go dual core, but I dont understand about cache and the 2000mhz spec. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

It is more than fast enough to do things like internet and cd burning. But if you want to go AMD instead of waiting for Conroe (Intel's new proc) then at least get socket AM2. It is the same price as 939.

thats got the largest cache you can get on an AMD... and its dual core. yes, it runs at 2.2ghz and technically its two "lanes" of 1ghz fsb adding up to 2ghz fsb. that doesnt effect much really.. as long as you dont go under 600mhz which 754 didn't.
in my opinion the 4400+ is one of the best processors on the market. i'd get that for the X2 4000+ if you can find it.. do they sell it at most places?

which is about the price of a single core 3500+ or 3700+ less than a couple months ago. talk about a drop in price. WOW lol
