Confused???

I was looking to buy a video card and came across the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 1GB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card. The price is 150 and I am confused becasue other video cards that have 512 or even 256mb cost more. video cards that have 1 gig are normaly in the 500s and up. I guess im just looking for an explanation
 
DDR 2 isnt that great...at all. besides, its just an 8500, you can get an 8800, which performs much better, for the same price, or a bit more.
