Back in October, my pc crashed. I took it to a local guy who put in a refurbished 2 TB hard drive & reinstalled Windows 10. When he brought it back, he had installed the Mozilla Firefox browser. I don't like it, so I uninstalled it & installed Google Chrome. About a month ago, it crashed again. This time I took it to a VERY well known place for repair. They reinstalled Windows 10 and claim they put in a brand new 2 TB hard drive. What I'm confused about is my FileCleaner Pro program still occasionally finds traces of Mozilla. How is that possible if they really put in a new hard drive?

Get rid of this program, its junk. All you really need to use is Ccleaner which is free. You will actually hurt your computer by using programs such as filecleaner. What brands of drives are you using? Are you using mozilla thunderbird for email perhaps?

Maybe becuz traces of firefox where still in the RAM.(But wait! when ever you restart your computer, it cleans the ram! so that cant be possible!

Maybe your motherboard has some place for a cache of some kind.

Oh god... Please, if you don't know what you are talking about, don't post. You have no idea how a computer works.

Some people come to these forums because they specifically don't know a lot about computing. It is our job to suffer through their ignorance and help them, not be "tech snobs" and dismiss them. I know how you feel and my nerves are tested but I always keep in mind that I didn't know anything about computers until the mid 90's. All I ask is that you rethink your post and be more down to earth and approachable. Anyway I'm Bryan and it is nice to meet you. I don't know everything about computing and doubt you do either. I'm sending this message from a humble Asus Q550LF Laptop Core i7 4th gen, 240GB ScanDisk Extreme Pro SSD, 16GB Crucial Ballistics RAM, GeForce 745M and a 128GB Super Cache in the form of a half mSATA 45mm SSD. It runs on Windows 7 Ultimate flawlessly even though it was originally shipped with Windows 8.1 factory. I just like the speed and flexibility of Win 7 and think Microsoft has yet to improve upon it. My point is this Laptop wasn't shipped with most of this Hardware and Software. I learned from gracious people like you, sir. I am grateful to this day for those who helped out a newbie, me. Please reconsider your statement, this is my humble and respectful request. Thank You! Have a great day!

I tried CCleaner Free & my pc seemed to keep getting slower. The drive that's in it now, is a "WD" I'm not using anything by Mozilla

if your scans are still finding traces of Mozilla then obviously they didn't reinstall windows or use a new drive, but like I said before I wouldn't be using that software as it could tell you anything and you would believe it. Thats how software like that makes money. Lies to you and says there are issues with your pc and there isn't. Finds bogus files and folders and says they need to be deleted. I'm leaning more toward this software is bogus and to get rid of it.
