Connect to a server via a Wi-Fi router

I have a router that shares internet between a computer and a server (server then gives me internet) now i can use remote desktop to do stuff to my server, but i cant get the other computer to connect to the server though remote desktop. will there be something in my router that will allow me to do this. I am using a belkin g+ mimo router.
the network setup is,
router---dads computer (wifi)
router---my server (wifi)
server--- my computer (cable)

Am I assuming that the server is between your computer and the router? So, combine #2 and #3 to look like: router--server--your computer? If so, then first make sure that you've got the proper security settings on the router (I'm not sure on the Belkins as they are generally crap, no offense...). Probably what's happened is that the router is set up so that the computers can't see each other when they are connected through the router.
 
yeah i do have it set up like that. do you know how i could set the router to allow all computers to see each other?
 
Without seeing the actual control panel for the router itself no, not exactly. One other simple question while I'm researching, you don't have remote dial-in blocked on the server do you? It may be blocking the other computer from dialing in through the router.
 
I have something called "Access Point Isolation" which can prevent computers and printers from sharing files over the network. Make sure that is turned off. Mine is a US Robotics router.

yeah i wasn't that impressed when i got it but i does do the job and it doesn't drop connection that offen

iv had a look for access point isolation and i cant find it.
any ideas where it could be?

Check in the security section of the Wireless heading and also poke around in the Firewall heading as well...
 
Yeah, I'm sorry I couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, just not familiar with that brand... Let me move this into the Networking subforum and see if anyone has any more luck there...
