Connect To Wireless Printer

I need advice on making a computer to wireless printer connection. The computer is a dell dimension 8250 and is currently connected to internet via USB wireless adapter.

I need to move this computer to another location where there is NO internet service. My question is, is it possible to run a wireless printer without internet? I don't know the name of the printer but it is less than a year old and is wireless ready.

I have on hand the linksys USB network adapter, a linksys wrt54g router, a Belkin N wireless router model F5D8236-4v3, and a linksys -G- pci adapter with antenna.

If this idea is possible to do I can get the printer model if someone can advise me.

Thanks,

Yes, you can still use a wireless printer without having internet. You'll still need to have a router on and printer connected to wireless along with your wireless adapter.

Then does the computer send a signal wirelessly to the router or does the 2 need to be connected by ethernet cable?

Maybe with your help I can get this working.

Basically the same setup you have now, just without internet. As long as you don't change any settings in router or anything then all you do is hook the equipment back up minus the internet modem of course and you should be able to go back to printing as usual. Is the printer installed right now as being a wireless printer?

No the printer is at the other location and has never been connected to a computer. I went and got the info off it and It's a HP OfficeJet 4622/print scan copy fax. I scrolled thru the wireless menu. and saw that there is an automatic setting so in a few days I'll try it out and get back to you.

Thank you already!

Sorry, I had to run out for a little bit.

Since this printer hasn't been installed on any computer yet, basically follow the instructions. Usually you have to use a usb cable for the first time installing the printer and then tell the installer to use a wifi connection and then it will get all the necessary settings from the network so that it will connect to the wifi. It's pretty easy to set up honestly.
