Hi again all, i have yet another issue that has arisen.. and its confusing the hell outta me..

if i start from the begining, it may help..

i originally tried to get port forwarding working on my comp, i read that i must have a static IP for this to work, so i went to http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm and followed all the instructions on the page, and used one of the 5 "safe" IPs that was listed after using the little programe, which gimes the useable IPs to prevent any clash.

all seemed to work absolutely fine on my computer, and all other computers connected to the router wirelessly. however one laptop was simply stuck with the "acquiring network address" when connecting, i tried loads of different things to solve the problem. using many answers from many sites.

nothing seemed to work, i suddenly thought to my self, "i wonder if i gave that laptop the 2nd static IP from the list portforwarding.com gave me?" so i tried it, and it connected. however, i couldn't actually open a webpage. which seemed strange,, as the WZC said it was connected. then suddenly a bubble popped up and said connected to internet, i tried it, and it worked, great!! i dont think i did anything to make it happen.

so all is fine untill a 3rd laptop suddenly stops working, exactly the same problem as the 2nd, except this one actually said "limited or no connectivity". so i tried a few things, and none worked. so i thought, maybe if i stick the
3rd static IP on this laptop? so i did, and it connected, but i couldnt access any webpages. nothing at all, i tried a few other things that i thought could be the problem, and no luck, tried firewalls etc, i couldnt even access the router on this laptop now.

so i tried, just out of interest, whether that IP was somehow being used by a 3rd laptop on the network that was using a dynamic IP, i decided to try the
4th static IP address that portforwarding gave me, but still no luck, it still said connected, but no web pages were accessable..

does anyone have any ideas on what i'm doing wrong? or a way to fix this issue? i'm starting to think i should just set all comps back to dynamic IP, but really dont want to lose my port forwarding ability..

sorry its such a large/long post, but i wanted to try and make sure i included as much info as poss..

and again, many thanks in advance for any ideas.

the router i'm using is an Orange "Livebox" pretty crap to be honest..

i am using the portforwarding with things such as BF2, and other online games.

basically, i have actually removed all the static IP's from the connecting comps, and reset all the port forwarding, and all comps seem to be working now, except the only one that worked from the begining (my main desktop).. lol.. ironic really.. i should be more selfish.

now i have the problem that my desktop can be connected, but not access webpages or the router homepage.

it seems to keep connecting and disconnecting, all other wireless works though. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the belkin drivers and software for the wireless adaptor i use, but still no change..

i'm starting to blame it on orange, and hate calling them as i usually have someone that barely understands a think i say.. so they are often little help.

any ideas on what might be going on? i'm pulling my hair out. luckily my laptop still connects ok..
