Connected, But no Internet?

Hey all, I'm brand new to the forums so I apologize if I miss anything I'm suppose to do.

But recently, I went to my dads house and brought my computer and hooked it all up, we ran a 100 foot Ethernet from the back of my computer to his router. The little Icon in the corner of my screen popped up like I had internet, but nothing.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? Do I need a new driver or something installed? Do I need a router of my own which is the same type or brand as his?

I don't know much about computers, all I know is I have a Broadcom driver and Realtek. And I believe his router brand is Lynksis.

Thanks!

what part did you do and nothing came up the cmd part or the ipconfig part?

Yes, I typed ipconfig /all and I seen a black box with writing in it for about a split second and it went away. Here is what I have:

Okay, would It be something on my dads computer that is hooked up or something in his settings that's not allowing my computer to have the internet? I'm not at his house, but I might be moving there soon.
