Connecting Android to laptops

I've searched quite a bit but can't figure this one out...

I want to connect my android phone to my Panasonic Toughbook laptop in order to play GeForce Now on my phone (using my LTE data) but the bigger screen. Using Samsung Dex introduces too much latency.

I bought a USB to hdmi cable but the laptop doesn't recognize it.

Is this even possible? I want a wired solution to reduce latency as much as possible.

Not possible really to do just via a hardwire like you would with a regular screen. Laptop screens only take input from the LCD cable in the laptop and there's no way to output anything other than your actual computer screen.

Could use MiraCast to stream/mirror your display but probably not what you're after.

Damn. That's what I feared. I don't want to fork out money for a stand alone monitor and Dex / mirrorcast creates just enough latency to make it hard to use

Why not just run Geforce Now on the laptop directly and use the LTE as a tether?
