connecting front panel to motherboard

dead motherboard?

i just bought a new case and started transfering all the hardware into it. when i went to plug in the front panel wires, i looked at what it said to do and the computer wouldnt turn on. then i used the old switch on my compaq to try and turn it on but it still wouldnt.

1. Are you sure you're connecting the jumpers to the right leads?
2. Try turning the computer on with a screwdriver ... does that work?
