Connecting game port joysticks to new mobos

Hi,

Can anyone help me? I want to connect an old Microsoft Sidewinder joystick to a new mobo which does not have a game port. Is there some way to get an adapter for this game port plug to USB or another type of port?

OK, so best solutions so far are build your own - or use an old sound card. New mobos have 7.1 sound, and I am going to install a 16-bit sound card to run my old joystick???

Well if that's what it takes...

So, can I run the sound through the onboard chip and still use the joystick through the (last-century) sound card?

lol, sounds funny when you say it, if its serial then the mobo should have one if not two ports......
