Connecting Gateway to LCD TV with HDMI Cable

I have a gateway Desktop, using Windows 7, with an HDMI output port. I am trying to connect it to a Sharp Aquous LCD TV. Beyond plugging in the cable, what else do I need to do? When I go to display and connect to external monitor, there is nothing that I can click on.
 
The Input on the TV is set to HDMI. I tried plugging the cable in to the back of the computer while the computer was off, and made sure the input on the tv was on HDMI. I also know the HDMI port on the TV is working because the cable box works with the HDMI cable.
