i've got a qosmio laptop and an old tv with composite inputs...
i went out and bought a manual hd switcher box which says i can connect the box via composite and i can plug in s-video or component cables from the pc to the box. but the tv isn't picking anything up? i don't have any remotes though which may be the problem. i have a vcr also with composite connections..the tv does recognize the vcr.

any suggestions?

Before we try troubleshooting, what are your goals for doing this? Composite cable combined with your old SD TV will not work if you want to view text, or anything in detail. Are you wanting to simply output some video to the TV?

i would like to use the tv as a surveillance monitor with my video camera...but i would like to use the tv as a monitor for the pc to use with a surveillance program i have to record to harddrive. i would also like to try it out as a monitor to watch movies.
i appreciate the help.
