Connecting LCD to laptop

Rite wonder if you can help me i have connected my gateway laptop to my LCD tv and it works but i can only get a screen by the side if that makes sense (i have to click and drag things onto my LCD screen)

So i havent got a taskbar or any icons on my LCD when its plugged in just stuff that i drag across

What i want to know is how to clone the screen rarther that duplicate it?

The computer had made it dual screen!!!!!

Do you have vista??

Cause i have known vista to automatically do it.

You know how to set your desktop picture, screen saver etc.....

Is that box similar to XP????

Cause i can only do it in XP at the moment..... unless someone with vista can help.....

no im afraid that didnt work i now have nothing displayed on my LCD screen the only thing that happens is when i restart my laptop the first two screens come up but then after that nothing

Then function F10 or what ever it on your laptop to sync it.

What brand and model laptop do you have?

well what is the button that you sync the screen.

like on a dell it is FN + F8

It wouldn't really be the graphics card because if he can get dual screen then it has the drivers installed.
