i was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to connect three hard drives onto one motherboard port?
i know that there are ide cables that are able to handle 3 drives at once. just not sure if the controller on the motherboard was able to handle it or not

anyone have any ideas?

what motherboard do you have? that will determine if you can attach 3 pata drives on 1 channel

not sure what one i have
this computer was just kinda put together by one of my dads friends(i think)

we have a bunch of hp books though, so it might actual be an hp pc
either way...give me a lil while and i'll take a pic of it and see if anyone can figure out what one it is

took the pics, then realized we still had the box
not sure what you need to know, but it's a micro atx
made by AOpen
the only things i seen on the paper work that looked like a model was mk73le-n and mk73le-v

one more thing
see, i'm used to having tools to use to find this stuff out when i'm at work, so i ain't used to figuring it out on my own
i have 2 sticks of 128mb sdram
but, i also have 1 stick of 512 sdram in my room
now, if i was to take out the 2 128's and put in the 1 512, would it still work?

i know some systems need both sticks to run
just not sure if this one does or not
lol

ok, ran that. and i'm on the mainboard tab
never used this before though, what am i lookin for
Manufacturer, model, chipset wouldn't hurt...

i am so bored. had to drive an hour to work even though it's my day off to come to a meeting about our insurance, then, they decided to delay the meeting for another hour and not even tell us...GGGRRRR
sorry, i'm just irrated, i'm done now

buh bye

Also note that it is highly unlikely that your chipset will support 3 drives per channel (I think the only place I saw one that did was on some old server boards)

it don't show manufacturer. but i know it's a micro atx by AOpen
model is 6
chipset is via ID3112

hopefully that's enough info to figure out if it'll work or not
preciate it
