Connecting To My DSL COnnection Over Router TCP?

hey guys,
listin, im at a friends place fixing his pc and i have encountered a problem that the TCP/IP is not renewing when i try the ipconfig in the Command Prompt.

tell me, how can i configure my router to work on my XP PC

This computers specs is:

450MHz AMD Processor
256MB RAM
10GB HX
Windows XP Professional

ethernet link is totaly connected, with connection a go, but, still no internet connection to the worldwideweb.

anyone help me that would be great

I hate dhcp personally, make sure you dont use it with winxp remote access... Screws everything up.

It may also be 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.0.1 these are both quite popular. Just punch it in to the url bar of ie
