Connecting USB ports to Motherboard - HELP :)

Hello,
I am attempting to connect a USB Interface Card (2 Ports) to my motherboard of a brand new Dell computer (Its a Studio XPS 8100). The USB card is from my old computer that my friend put together about 4 years ago.

First question is whether I can use this on this new computer... though I don't see why not.
Second question is where do I connect the two cords from the usb card to the mother board. A friend who is helping me thinks he knows, but isn't for sure. He thinks they will go in the area that I drew a pink rectangle around in the picture of the motherboard. Do they go there? and if so, which goes to which?

Can anyone help? I've attached pictures below for you to see:

Those will either be usb or firewire ports. You need to make sure they are usb or you will damage the motherboard or other things by hooking it up wrong.
 
I'm pretty sure firewire is keyed differently than those, but the colors do throw me off... Is there any print below the headers? Usually they'll be listed as USB_1, 1394_1, etc etc... Or if you know the model of the board, maybe you could locate a manual for it.
 
it should say on the motherboard if doesnt download, cpuZ or cpuID there the same and run that and then click on the motherboard tab and it will tell you what mobo you have
 
It looks like the orange set of pins has "USB" written on the motherboard. It's hard to tell from the angle though, so make sure that's what it say before you plug it in, or as johnb said, you'll potentially damage those connections...
