Connecting video cam to Computer

Hi! I could really use some help on how to connect my video camera to my desktop computer to be able to edit captured film.

The problem is, I haven't used the camera since I bought a new computer and now I can't seem to find a port that fits the camera cable.

I still have some parts of my old computer, where there was a port that worked. It looks a little like a USB but is smaller and differently shaped.

My old computer is in pieces, incomplete and not usable.

My camera is a couple of years old and records to tapes.

There are 3 ports on the camera. The one to the upper right (2nd pic) is for power. The one to the lower right is what fits the cable that I cannot plug into my new PC. The lower left is for showing captured video on the TV, which I can still do but I don't think I can use it to transfer film to the computer.

Any tips? Do I need an adapter or something? Or is my tape-recording camera hopelessly outdated? Any help will be appreciated. :)

you need firewire connections in you new computer.
you can get a pci card for cheap from best buy or online, amazon & newegg should have them.
