connection help

I just build my computer and my internet is not working, i have tried to set it up but its not working. I put the internet cord and usually it the end of the cord blinks, but right now its not blinking so i guess its not even recognizing it. What could be the problem?????

Are you connecting to the internet throught a LAN card? or dial up? You may not have drivers installed for the LAN card.

ok, you may not have drivers installed for the lan card. Do you know if drivers are installed, what lan card do you have?

i dont have a lan card i just bought a router and hooked it up and i run a cable to it, i dont have any lan cards

oh, you didnt give enough info on ur post, so when you connect your cable modem to your router it seems to not connect? The lights don't blink or anything, are you sure they are pluged in and ur cable modem intiliazed properly.
