Conroe -vs- AMD

all i know about is AMD 939 and AM2 and want to know what intel will be comparable to the 3800 X2 ? price and performance ?

i dont know where to begin researching intel ?

One of the Conroe's will be around $300, which is the same as X2 3800 right now (however that price will change after Conroe is released). But Conroe is much much better than the X2 3800. Infact, it operates better than the FX-62 in most system benchmarks

Basically, Conroe is going to be an excellent price/performance processor. Especially when compared to the AMD line.

that would be the E6600 and yes it outperforms FX series

The E6600 will be priced at $316 (recommended) but everything not conroe will likely go down in price so it will sell. Add to that low availability of conroe at until early-mid 2007 the prices will be driven up by high demand.
