hey guy's I don't know If you saw my other post but my cousin recently gave me 100$ as an early Christmas gift to help out with my build.

with the extra money my cousin gave me I have 225$ to spend on a CPU anD the only reason I was going to get the Phenom ii 965 Is because I don't have much money to spend.

So I asked myself.....Kevin, you have a CPU comparable to an i3 processor, with that money shouldn't you get an i5? and then told myself, you're right kevin, I should!!

So I wanted to show you this MOBO and can you please tell me If it fits with the whole crossfire and i5 idea(I plan to crossfire in the future not now).

that's way more then enough power, only will use it if you get 2 gpu's over 100 bucks, otherwise you wasted money on that, but sure, best cpu worth the money, i7 aint worth it for gaming, and a good mobo by a great company, i wish i had the setup, but do you have compatible ram, hdd, os, or are those for christmas, and if they are i'd wait till christmas and get everything then when bulldozer is out and they put out some christmas sales
 
Actually, it's recommended to go with a PSU around double of what your rig will actually pull. The increased proficiency will really help with the electric bill. If that doesn't matter to you then yeah go lower. but a better PSU will be better for future upgrades.
 
do you already have it built or is that just your current list for the build, if list, then what do you already have?
 
well this has 2 x16's, oc genie ii, and is only 15 more, and is a nice board, plus rebates to 145, the normal price is closer to 180, so it's already 15 off.

Dont know what you mean. Neither board has VGA. And the Asus in you link is only X16 and X4
 
x16 vs x8 will not bottleneck a card as of right now...even synthetic benches show like a grain sized difference in performance, so much you can ignore it. at least in SLI or xfire
