Constant Restart

OK, To be real honest - so I WAS on this one site at around 11:00 which features a few pics of chics, but just for reserach, let's say. Then I tried to shut down. A second later McAffe message comes up, "Dear Pervert, you just caught a virus," or something like that.

Then, the box went into a restart fit, Boots up, suts down right before Windows starts. I went into safe mode (should be my nickname), ran McAfee AV, then set up a diskchek on "C." Ran that. Booted up w/o restart cycling again. Went to McAfee's site which featured this virus warning: "W32/IRCbot.worm!MS05-039."

Then ran programs called "Stinger" "Bremove" and "Kremove" found at McAfee's site.

When I reboot, SOS happens. Should I take a vow to never go to another porn site and then burn this new Costco Gateway, OR can the PROS at the forum fix this???

well thats a first...i havent herd of this worm b4...well did you revert to a earlyer date... you can do this in safe mode...if that doesnt work just reformat and re-install your OS
 
hmm, well i got a idea for ya. stop lookin at porno.thats wat im ALWAYS scared of, i mean i've been to like 2 sites and in a split second, my AV already detected like 2 viruses, good thing they were removable. so becareful..... just download zipped files and scan them. ehhe

I don’t know why you guys think reformatting is the EASY FIX! It is not! Reformatting takes a few hours (saving old data, and the reformat +installation) Personally I hate reformatting. Hey pope there are many more ideas this guy can do... Why would you so easily say reformat... I don’t even want to go into this... It is responses like that that, which make me want to strangle ignorant people!

Ok newbie I hope you did not take his advice... Anyway go get a free program called xsoft hi jack this from here http://anti-hijack.net/download/
and post the things it finds...

First reboot into safe mode with networking and download ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/ then update ewido and do a scan and fix everything it finds then download hijack this and post a log!

I notice that when I command the box to do a dick check on the next bootup, it does not have the restart problem. The disk check does take about 30 minutes even on the allegedly super fast Pentium D. Unfortunately, a recovery does take several hours, so that would probabaly be my lasy chioce. I'll try the downloads you guys offered and report. THANK YOU for your help!
