Continuous beeping on startup

HP media center m370n i have a consistant beep on pushing the power button no screen comes up or anything. Is this a ram issue?

Sounds like a RAM issue to me.

Did you make any hardware changes or has this just come out of the blue.

Agreed. Continous beeps usually relate to RAM issues. Try reseating it or running with just a single stick(if you have more than one)

Ya i do believe that it is the ram here is a picture its not the best but there is a black spot on it and i think that would mean it is :blown,zapped,fried etc. I have the dual 512mb pc3200 ram and i tried it with just one stick but would not boot does the same thing. could i use a pc2700 and a pc3200 or would that be bad mojo!?

You need to look in the slot and make sure the little thin connector is not burned either.

could be ram but could also be graphic card not seated properly or not connected to the power molex

Also if you have the motherboard's manual,you can check there what each sequence of "beeps" means.
