Control Panel opens slow

I am running XP sp2, everything is good but the only problem is that the control panel opens very slowly. I saw the services.exe cpu usage goes high when opening control panel. I have NOrton Internet Security 2005, and had run a scan there is no virus or other things. What might be causing this?

I would guess some option on there is causing a conflict. I THINK(but I might be wrong) that TweakUI will let you disable certain parts of control pannel. Maybe if you disabled the parts that don't come with windows, or continue on with others if those aren't the problem, you'll eventually find the issue...

I wouldn't be supised if Norton's the problem. It's a bit of a resource hog...

thats what i would think too. plus norton and mcafee suck, my brother had norton, then switched to kaspersky and it found over 1500 infected files.
